HOW LONG WILL THE BAND PLAY?

We book for 180 minutes of music with 15-minute breaks at the end of each hour. We are also flexible when it comes to desired set lengths. If you need a set to go a little longer and another a little shorter, that’s totally doable.

Perhaps you prefer a shorter set, where we play straight through with no break; we’ve done that before. We only ask not to play longer than two hours without taking a break. A more typical 60-minute set will consist of somewhere between

15-20 songs. 

We’re happy to pause for announcements, toasts or bouquet tosses, etc. We're pros, and we’ll make it work seamlessly. Above all, we strive to make your event as enjoyable for participants and guests as possible.

WHAT INSTRUMENTS MAKE UP YOUR 7 PIECE BAND?

Three guitars, two keyboards, drums, bass and, our not-so-secret weapon – seven outstanding singers.

SKYROCKET! is composed entirely of singers and bandleaders. With that many possibilities, vocals soar as close to the original recordings as humanly possible

DO YOU EVER BRING A HORN SECTION?

Yes. Given enough notice, it can absolutely be arranged. We love playing

with a horn section. It does add additional expense.

IS YOUR BAND THE RIGHT SIZE FOR MY EVENT?

The short answer is, "Absolutely!" SKYROCKET! has performed in every sort of location, from airplane hangars to arenas to backyard decks to overseas beaches and giant fields in the middle of nowhere. We know exactly how to physically accommodate a space and play to any sized room. We generally require a minimum 12’ deep x 20’ wide stage and most prefer a 16’ deep x 24’ wide. The more space we have, the bigger and better our moves, which translates into a more animated show.

We’ll also point out that a lack of space has almost never become an issue we couldn’t creatively resolve.

DO YOU OFFER BACKGROUND MUSIC FOR A DINNER OR COCKTAIL HOUR?

Yes. We have plenty of curated playlists on hand for whatever suits your desired mood. Please tell us what vibe you’re after.

We need a song for our first dance. Any suggestions?

Absolutely! Just ask. We'll send you a list of beautiful choices based off decades of collective, first-hand experience. If you need a song for a special dance with a parent, we’re happy to help with those

kinds of ideas, too.

WILL YOU PLAY SONGS THAT ARE NOT ON YOUR SONG LIST?

Yes, and with a fair amount of notice, we will learn two new songs of your

choosing. If you would like us to learn more, any additional expense can

reasonably be discussed with our man, Ken Erlick.

CAN I CUSTOMIZE YOUR SET LIST?

Some couples enjoy being more hands-on with music choices, while others are happy to trust the band. Upon request, we will send you a song list you can choose favorites from. We then arrange set lists in the best possible order to keep the dance floor shaking. We know how to

read a crowd. That's a big part of our job, and we take pride in keeping a party packed with peak experiences.

WILL SOMEONE IN THE BAND MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS?

Yes. We are excellent at making announcements and keeping parties on

schedule.

DO YOU PROVIDE RECORDED MUSIC DURING YOUR BAND BREAKS?

Absolutely, and we have plenty of options. Our sound person, Kathryn,

has been with us since the beginning and is well versed in the delicate art of delivering great band-break music. She also makes sure to deliver music at the most appropriate times. Again, we have playlists to suit everything, but if you wish to customize a playlist for any breaks (and with advance notice), we are happy to facilitate that for you. We also have a video option, draping additional feathers on the peacock that is SKYROCKET!.

What is this "video" you speak of?

Glad you asked!

We have dedicated, creatively curated video production that we offer at no extra charge. Our HD projection system is used in most of our live shows, further setting SKYROCKET! (and any event) apart from run-of-the mill event programming. It adds excitement, movement, and lots of fun to what can often be perceived as a static room without it.

It also keeps the room vibrant for band breaks. Additionally, music videos during breaks can also be an excellent way to keep any party charged. Just ask.

Video is optional. If you want to preserve a desired aesthetic without video, we fully understand, and we’ll still deliver an amazing show, with or without video.

DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN SOUND AND LIGHTING?

Yes. Sound is typically included in the cost of booking. Luckily, we have the

finest sound person alive. She's been with us since the beginning, and she takes making every event sound great extremely seriously, while also taking care not to overpower a room with excessive volume. We also provide basic lighting. If the space is large or you crave going visually over the top with it, we can help arrange additional professional lighting. Please ask. We have many companies on speed dial to help facilitate this process.

Yes we do! And we absolutely love doing it.
